Financial Report 2024
Notice of AGM 2024

Presidents Update – March 2024

I’m pleased to provide you with an update on the current state of our company and outline our major plans for the next five years.

Firstly, I want to assure you that our financial situation remains robust, thanks to the prudent decisions made by both the Board and Management. Despite facing a decrease in revenue, a challenge shared by many clubs in our region, our sound financial management has helped mitigate its impact.

Recently, the Board and Senior Management convened for a two-day session to chart our strategic course for the next half-decade. We delved into crucial areas including finance, building and infrastructure, bowls, and community sponsorship and engagement.

In the coming months, we’ll be finalising our Five-Year Strategic Plan. As promised at the AGM last October, this document will be shared with members shortly after the June board meeting, with any commercially sensitive information omitted.

One significant decision we’ve reached concerns the future of Lawn Bowls at Narooma and Dalmeny. After thorough evaluation and seeking independent advice, we unanimously agreed to relocate Bowls to Narooma. The Strategic Plan will outline the specific of repurposing the land at Dalmeny currently occupied by the bowls greens, as well as the timeline for the amalgamation. Rest assured, we will collaborate closely with the bowls committees to ensure a smooth transition. This decision, though not taken lightly, is necessary given the unsustainable cost of maintaining two clubs amidst rising expenses and declining bowler numbers.

Additionally, we’re exploring funding options to convert our grass greens to synthetic, a move we believe will enhance participation and attract prestigious Bowls NSW events and tournaments.

The relocation of bowls to Club Narooma presents and opportunity for development on NSSC – owned land, including upgrades to modernise the existing club facilities. I want to emphasise that all Directors and Senior Management remain fully committed to Club Dalmeny, and the chosen development path will secure its future for years to come.

Thank you for your continued support and trust in our vision. We look forward to sharing more detailed plans with you soon. Please contact me or the Board of Director with any questions you may have.
